R407C Refrigerant Application
R407C refrigerant has also been used in industrial freezers found at your local port of entry, plant freezers, freight ships, and freezer trucks. R407C is a non-toxic, non-flammable, Class 2.2 product meeting the highest ASHRAE standard A1/A1 classification. R407C has an Ozone Depletion potential of 0, a Global Warming Potential of 1774. R407C refrigerant should be charged into a system with a Polyolester (POE) and not with Mineral Oil (MO) due to it being more miscible, or able to blend with the refrigerant. Ensure you have a dry HVAC system as POE oils are hydroscopic, meaning they absorb moisture readily which can cause harmful acids to form inside your HVAC system causing further damage to your HVAC system. R407C is in the 400 series of refrigerants making it a ternary blend of refrigerants and is Zeotropic, meaning there is a sliding scale of boiling and freezing points based on pressure and temperature. The “R” signifies Refrigerant and can be alternated with its specific name HFC-407C.

R407c is a Great Alternative to replace R22 Refrigerant
After many years of testing and investigation, R407C is recognized as a suitable alternative refrigerant for R22 in medium and high temperature applications such as residential and light commercial air conditioning. R407C refrigerant is a ternary blend of hydro fluorocarbon or HFC compounds, comprising 23% of R32, 25% of R125 and 52% of R134a. It has no chlorine content, no ozone depletion potential, and only a modest direct global warming potential. ODP = 0, GWP = 1610. R407C is NOT a “drop-in” replacement for R22. In addition to slight capacity losses, there are differences between R407C and R22 that must be considered when handling, processing, applying or retrofitting refrigerants.

R-407-C Refrigerant is an HFC refrigerant replacement for R-22 in positive displacement systems such as new or existing residential and commercial air-conditioners and heat pumps.
